As Chairman and on behalf of the Board of Directors of the Westberry-Engram Sigma Educational Foundation, I thank you for visiting our website. Since 2005, we have been dedicated to providing cultural, educational, social and charitable services in the Houston area. Each year we provide at least two $1000 scholarships to deserving Houston area high school students. In addition, each Thanksgiving we partner with the Alpha Beta Sigma chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity to provide turkeys and grocery boxes to more than 150 needy families from Houston area churches. In December each year we provide a meal and gifts to elderly residents at the Anna Dupree assisted living facility in southeast Houston as a part of our outreach to the community. We have also provided financial assistance to elementary schools in Houston’s third ward area.
We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and are able to receive tax-exempt donations from individuals, businesses, corporations and philanthropists to allow us to accomplish our mission. In addition to receiving direct contributions from supporters, we also sponsor fundraising activities such as our biennial Legends award luncheon and our annual “Roaring 20’s dance held each fall. We hope you will support our activities through donations or sponsorship of our events.
